Developments Denver Dealer Named Dealer of the Year M T ike Shaw, dealer princi- pal of Denver-based Mike Shaw Chevrolet Saab, was named the 2012 TIME Dealer of the Year at the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) Con- vention & Exposition in Las Vegas. Shaw was selected by a panel of fac- ulty members from the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business, beating out 49 other dealers vying for the industry's top honor. Presenting the award included Kim Kelleher, worldwide publisher of TIME, and Tim Russi, Ally Financial's executive vice president for North American auto operations. The finance source sponsored this year's award. "My mantra in business is that quality comes first, customers are al- ways the focus and integrity is never compromised," Shaw said. For the past 17 years, Shaw has been involved with numerous proj- ects and organizations, including the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Urban League of Denver, Make-A- Wish Foundation, Colorado Aids Walk, Food Bank of the Rockies, the American Cancer Society's golf tour- nament, Crime Stoppers, Executive Women International and Seniors Inc. "I am a person who deeply cares about kids and their education, es- pecially kids who come from low- income backgrounds," Shaw said. "I am convinced the key to success is education, and my commitment to kids and education is a driving force." MBFS Now on DealerTrack Platform his month, Mercedes-Benz Fi- nancial Services (MBFS) be- came one of the more than 1,100 finance sources on DealerTrack's cred- it application network. The announce- ment extends the relationship the two companies forged last year. The expanded relationship was an- nounced before the start of the Na- tional Automobile Dealers Associa- tion's annual convention, and comes a year after MBFS selected Dealer- Track's Aftermarket Network to provide its dealers with a connection to the companies underwriting its 8 F&I and Showroom March 2012 line of vehicle protection products. "Becoming a lender on Dealer- Track's network gave both companies a good opportunity to get a feel for working with each other," said Diet- mar Exler, vice president of MBFS. "The main angle of the partnership was to ensure that any processes that needed to be contracted would be- come electronically contracted." The new connection will appear as a tab on the MBFS-branded dealer portal DealerTrack created last year, which also provides access to the software company's eMenu, Sales- Maker and lead-generation tools. The all-in-one solution now allows MBFS dealers to submit a credit app, rate an F&I product, provide a quote and re- mit the contract from a single portal. Managers also can use the tool to monitor F&I manager performance. "Our focus is on delivering an ef- fective and productive workflow to Mercedes-Benz dealers, one that also allows dealers to interact more effectively with the customers," said Robert Granados, vice president and general manager of sales and F&I so- lutions for DealerTrack.
